The focus of our "Kori" (Japanese for "ice") tea ceremony set is the midnight blue matcha bowl with its deliberately irregular shape and wavy rim, which represents the hilly landscape of Japan.
The glaze is a very dark, almost black "midnight blue" with an ice-crusted edge.
This dark, cool coloring creates an interesting contrast to the light green, hot Matcha.
The relatively large bowl has a diameter of 12 cm and a height of 8 cm.
With a volume of approx. 435 ml, the bowl offers enough space to whip the matcha tea until it is foamy.
Each matcha bowl is unique in color and shape.
The handmade individual pieces may differ slightly from the photos in terms of color and structure.
This traditional, shapely Matcha bowl "Kori" was elaborately handcrafted in a classic design and attracts everyone's attention with its deliberately irregular shape and the wavy edge, which represents the hilly landscape of Japan.
The thickly applied, shiny dark blue glaze underlines and contrasts the intense green of the matcha tea.
The bowl is slightly tapered at the top so the matcha doesn't splatter when you open it.

The set includes a white bamboo matcha whisk, also known as a chasen, an indispensable accessory for preparing matcha tea.
He has 80 bristles and allows the Matcha tea to be whipped with a firm and presentable foam.
The broom holder made of porcelain (Jap. "Chasentate") in the same design as the Matcha bowl extends the life of the Matcha broom as the bristles dry quickly and particularly well thanks to even ventilation.
After use, simply rinse the bamboo broom with lukewarm water and place it on the holder with the bristles facing down. The special shape of the holder ensures that the bristles are protected and keep their shape longer.
The set is rounded off by the enclosed Matcha spoon "Chashaku".
It is the traditional tool for extracting the right amount of matcha powder from the container.
